Biography - Amber Tamblyn

Amber Tamblyn (Executive Producer, Poet) has been a writer and actress since the age of 9. She was Emmy and Golden Globe nominated for her work in the critically acclaimed "Joan of Arcadia." She was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for her work in the independent film, "Stephanie Daley," for which she received the best actress award at Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. Amber has published 3 books of poetry, "Of The Dawn," "Plenty Of Ships" and "Free Stallion." Her work has been published in New York Quarterly Magazine, The New Yorker, San Francisco Chronicle, Writers and Poets, Longshot Press, and the annual anthology ONTHEBUS. "Free Stallion" received a Border's Book Choice Award for 2006 and a scathing review from some guy on amazon.com who wrote, "As a writer I can assure that Ms. Tamblyn is a fine sitcom actress." She appreciates both. "Free Stallion" is currently being translated into Italian and Iranian. Amber’s work has also appeared internationally in the 37th addition of Le Voci Della Luna, Manifesto and POESY. In Iran, her work appears in The Red Grounds Publisher. Amber has performed with Matador master Derrick Brown, Mindy Nettifee, Jack Hirschman, Wanda Coleman, Jeffrey McDaniel, Rachel Kann, Beau Sia, Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Michael McClure. She is working on her 4th book of poetry and a book of short stories. Her new television series, “The Unusuals” premieres on ABC in April 2009.
